Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage our shipping and receiving operations while providing critical support for inventory management and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently
• Maintain precise shipping and receiving records using QuickBooks
• Perform data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist in the implementation and setup of new inventory management software
• Manage inventory levels and conduct regular inventory audits
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices
• Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area
• Generate reports and track shipping and receiving metrics

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving
• Proficient in QuickBooks data entry
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with or aptitude for learning inventory management software
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Familiarity with shipping regulations and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in logistics or related field
• Previous experience with inventory management software implementation
• Forklift certification
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles

Physical Requirements

• Working in a warehouse environment
• Operating material handling equipment

Work Schedule

Full-time: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Occasional overtime may be required
